Learn more about the history of Ilkley Manor House.
Did you know that before we became a museum and art gallery, Ilkley Manor House was actually split into cottages? They were people’s homes and even business premises.
Examine old photos throughout the decades, starting with Thomas Girtin’s 1801 painting and continuing until the 1950s, when the House was derelict and Castle Yard was ‘exceptionally untidy’!
Pore over census records and learn about the social history of this amazing medieval building.
Ilkley Manor House is open on weekends from 11am to 4pm. Entry to the House is free unless stated otherwise. Please check the website and our social media before visiting for opening times. Booking is not required.
