Read about what life was like in Ilkley in World War One, illustrated with contemporary pictures. There are sections on the Military Hospital with a nurse’s photo album, the role of women and the story of a howitzer battery illustrated with evocative drawings by one of the soldiers. There are also artefacts, a dossier on Ilkley’s VC Harold Maufe and a developing folder of visitors’ family stories.
Open every weekend: 10am-4pm. The exhibition opens: 4th Aug 2018.
