11th May 2024 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
On the hunt for plants to spruce up your home? Do you love nature and learning about wildlife? Thinking of ways to entertain the kids this weekend? Then the Ilkley Manor House’s inaugural Spring Fair is perfect for you!
Join us from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, 11 May when the courtyard will be buzzing with activity. There will be a variety of stalls, music, maypole dancing, and refreshments so visitors can relax in the wonderful spring atmosphere.
East Riddlesden Hall, who provided us with herbs to create our medieval garden, will be selling various specialist plants and gardening tools.
Gledstone Gardens is a family-run retail plant nursery that offers a wide range of quality plants, most of which they grow themselves.
Three Pools Nursery from Southport will bring specimen standard trees and shrubs, ornamental trees and shrubs, fruit trees and fruit shrubs, some vegetable plants, palms, exotic shrubs, and specimen house plants
Tom Bromley of Burnt Orchid will showcase his hand-forged, high-quality gardening tools and accessories.
Wharfedale Beekeepers Association is providing an educational stall about our fuzzy friends and the art of beekeeping.
Wharfe Quartet will entertain visitors with the gentle strains of string music from 12-2pm.
Take part in our plant swap, where people can exchange plants and gain handy tips and hints.
Families can enjoy the range of activities on offer this Saturday! Let the kids get their hands dirty at our plant-bedding station, where we will show them how to care for plants that they can then take home.
From 2 to 3pm, children can join in our annual maypole dancing – skip along to the music and try to create patterns with colourful ribbons!
Lastly, there will be refreshments available so that after visitors have perused the stalls and enjoyed participating in green-fingered fun, they can relax in the courtyard with a drink.
No booking is required for any of the activities on 11 May, and the House will be open as usual for the public to explore.
