SPRING FAIR 2025

26th Apr 2025
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

On the hunt for plants to spruce up your home? Do you love nature and learning about wildlife? Thinking of ways to entertain the kids for free? Then the Ilkley Manor House Spring Fair is perfect for you!

Join us from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 26 April when the courtyard will be buzzing with activity.

Donate, buy, or swap plants at the Ilkley Manor House stall. Bring along healthy plants or seedlings you’d like to swap or donate and browse a selection of beautiful plants grown in our own medieval garden. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, it’s a great chance to share, learn, and take home something green!

Summerfield Nursery is a family-run nursery based in Poppleton, in the beautiful Vale of York. Specialists in growing herbaceous perennials and shrubs, Summerfield brings years of horticultural expertise and a passion for quality plants. Their stall will be bursting with colour and inspiration, perfect for anyone looking to add something special to their garden this spring.

Tom Bromley of Burnt Orchid will be selling his beautiful hand-forged kitchenware and copper utensils.

Visit the Climate Action Ilkley stall at the Spring Fair to learn more about local climate action and how you can get involved! Chat with the team, discover practical tips for sustainable living, and explore community projects making a real difference. Whether you’re curious, concerned, or ready to take action, there’s something for everyone.

The wonderful team behind the ACE Bogs project and exhibition — led by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and focused on the peatlands of Denton Reserve — will be at the Spring Fair to answer your questions and share their knowledge about the vital role of peatlands. Don’t forget to visit their exhibition in the Western Gallery!

Children can enjoy hands-on fun at the children’s planting stall! Get your hands dirty, plant your own seeds, and learn how things grow. It’s a fun, free activity designed especially for young gardeners—come along, dig in, and take home a little bit of spring!

After perusing the stalls, you can relax in the courtyard with refreshments and live music. Don’t miss SoulJazz2, a talented duo bringing smooth, feel-good vibes with a blend of soulful melodies and jazzy grooves to the courtyard—the perfect soundtrack for a sunny afternoon!

No booking is required for any of the activities, and the House will be open as usual for the public to explore.
