On 11, 12, and 13 July, photoILKLEY will host Ilkley’s first ever photography festival at various locations around the town. As part of the festival, the Young Photographer Exhibition comes to Ilkley Manor House from 12 July to 3 August.

photoILKLEY is a grassroots celebration of photography’s unique power to connect, to question, and to see the world anew. Dedicated exclusively to photographic art, the festival brings together a vibrant range of thought-provoking work that invites us to look closer at Ilkley, at each other, and at the stories we live every day.
For this first edition, photoILKLEY is reflecting on the theme Ilkley: Best Place to Live, inspired by Ilkley’s recent recognition in The Sunday Times’ annual Best Places to Live guide. But what makes a place the “best” – and whose experiences are we celebrating?
Born from a desire to foster community through photographic storytelling, photoILKLEY hopes to spark conversations, challenge assumptions, and celebrate the complex, creative pulse of our town and beyond.
YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHER COMPETITION
photoILKLEY is committed to making space for younger voices too. Our Young Photographer Competition invites people aged 20 and younger to share their own visions of Ilkley and the world, offering a vital platform for emerging talents and fresh perspectives.
The exhibition at Ilkley Manor House showcases the shortlisted entries from our Young Photographer Competition, celebrating the creativity and vision of emerging talent. To see all the exhibitions and events happening as part of the festival, click here.
