Sep/Oct 2023: Ilkley Arts open exhibition

Everyone at Ilkley Manor House is delighted that Ilkley Arts’ inaugural Open Exhibition, entitled Take Time, will be on display in the House during September and October. Take Time showcases work by over thirty selected contemporary UK artists.

Keen to build on its work bringing new art to local residents, Ilkley Arts launched a call out earlier this year for artwork not previously shown in the town. Submissions were received from across the UK, with over 400 artworks put forward for consideration by the appointed selection panel, chaired by Kathryn Fox, trustee of Ilkley Arts.

Kathryn says, “We are absolutely delighted to have drawn so much interest from artists who really excel in their field, reflecting on a theme which has relevance to us all. In the exhibition, each artist offers their own consideration of our experience of time: those landmark moments in our lives and our aspirations for the future, as well as our sense of being in the present. Ilkley Manor House provides the perfect historic backdrop for such an exhibition.”

Take Time, which runs from 16 September until 15 October 2023, will be on show here at Ilkley Manor House every weekend between 11am and 4pm. Entry is free and the exhibition includes photography, painting, textile work, printmaking, drawing and 3D work, with much of the work for sale.
