Spring Fair Success

Despite the rain, we welcomed 225 visitors to Ilkley Manor House, which is a fantastic result and a real testament to the strength of the event, now in its third edition, as well as the work that went into promoting it and the commitment of everyone involved.

The event generated over £1000 in income and donations in funds to support the Ilkley Manor House. The atmosphere on the day was lovely. Our very own Alex Cockshott adapted brilliantly to the bad weather by moving the maypole dancing indoors, which proved very popular. By midday, people were already asking when the next session would take place. Our volunteer Gill Johnson also provided music for the maypole dancing, and our neighbour Peter Mate brought along his U3A guitar group, Tappers, who added more live music to the day.

This was already their second time at our Spring Fair for our professional nurseries and they are saying that they are looking forward to next year. We were also very happy to support the Ukrainian Community by offering them a stall to help raise funds.

The whole IMH team would like to give a very big thank you to the gardening volunteers who worked so hard in the lead-up to the event, including preparing and packing almost 400 plants. Thank you also to everyone who helped on the day, supported the promotion of the Fair, or came along to show support.

For those who were not able to make it this time, we also have the Summer Fair coming up on the 25th and 26th of July, and you look forward to welcoming you then at the IMH!
