This year’s Summer Makers’ Fair was a whirlwind of artistic activity, with local creatives showcasing and selling their beautiful art and crafts.
Although we had hoped for the best, Saturday’s weather forecast wasn’t particularly promising and so a last minute decision was made to host the fair inside the House. This was thankfully a wise move as no sooner had we unbolted the door than the heavens opened and didn’t stop for the rest of the day. Luckily, the soggy conditions didn’t dampen visitors’ plans and we had over 200 people popping in, purchasing everything from prints and cards to jewellery and paintings.
Thankfully the rain held off on Sunday and we were able to host the fair outdoors in our spacious courtyard, as originally planned. With over 400 visitors attending over the course of the weekend, the Summer Makers’ Fair is one of our most anticipated events of the year and, despite the inclement weather, it did not disappoint!
If you were unable to attend you can see the list of exhibitors who took part on Discover Ilkley Art or visit our Instagram account to link through to their personal pages and online shops.
We’re now in the process of planning our Christmas Makers’ Fair, which will take place on 3-4 December 2023 – pop it in your diary as it will be here before you know it!
