Visit us for our final exhibition before we close for winter! The Colour of Dreams runs from Saturday, 29 November to Sunday, 14 December.
Rooms of colour that breathe. Quiet, joy-forward, and close to the senses, this exhibition gathers painters, a ceramicist, and a textile artist around one simple invitation: slow down, notice what light does to feeling, and let colour carry you toward it. Surfaces hum, edges soften, and each work opens a small space to rest.
The exhibition will feature the beautiful works of ten artists:
Jane Wood lends the tactility of the shoreline—assemblages shaped from found coastal materials, objects that hold people and place inside them.
Kate Lycett’s opulent town and landscapes glow with pattern, gold leaf, and small threads of wonder.
Gill Edwards layers paint and mixed media until colour feels playful and certain, a rhythm you can almost hear.
In the Solar Gallery, Hannah Lamb’s [De]Constructed Cloth steps off the wall; cloth becomes form and shadow, a sculptural memory of the textile stories it carries.
Rachael Sugden paints the felt geography of home—Yorkshire, coastlines, and the paths in between—held in atmosphere and care.
Jonathan Hooper turns the city’s edges and suburbs into studies of tone and mood, colour mapping the places where buildings meet sky.
John Gamble works slowly, intuitively, letting figure and space reveal themselves in traces.
Katharine Holmes brings the Dales close—brush, weather, lineage—painting landscape with the steadiness of three generations behind her.
Emma Westmacott’s ceramics echo Brutalist lines; slip-cast terracotta, layered moulds, and rich glazes build a quiet architecture for the hand.
And Helina Bassey pares painting back to essentials—oil, light, horizon—so that abstraction and landscape rest gently together.
If you’re looking for something thoughtful and lasting, this is the perfect moment to choose art as a Christmas gift; personal, meaningful, ready to live with. Find the piece that speaks to your own palette of joy, and let it brighten someone else’s.
