LOCAL HISTORY HUB: Ilkley’s 1860 Transformation – Zoom

24th Feb 2024
2:45 pm - 4:00 pm

The talk will show what the quiet village of Ilkley was like in the first half of the 19th century. The first hydros and culverting of Brook Street brought gradual change. Then, in the 1860s, the railway arrived, increasing the land value and enabling the Middeltons to sell tracts for the houses, turning the village into a bustling town.

Please note this talk is virtual only, taking place on Zoom.
