Offcumdens

26th Mar 2022 - 27th Mar 2022
11:00 am - 4:00 pm

‘There’s a space; a liminal space, a creative space, an adventurous space where words and images meet and this superb book celebrates that exciting space.’

Ian McMillan, writer, poet and broadcaster.

A selection of Bob Hamilton’s black and white photographs of Yorkshire from the book Offcumdens will be on display in our upstairs gallery over the weekend of 26th-27th March, 11am to 4pm.

On Saturday 26th March,  from 3pm to 4pm, the poet James Nash will host a poetry reading by Emma Storr with support from the Wharfedale poets. (This is by ticket only and we regret that the event is currently sold out)

Offcumdens is a collaboration between two creative artists who wanted their images and words to work together, invoking deeper meanings than either medium could on its own. The 41 photographs in the book are an eclectic mix of landscape and people. The accompanying poems vary in form and style but are always accessible. Notes at the back of the book provide further information and insight into the creative process involved in combining image with word.

The book Offcumdens will be available to buy in hardback and paperback at the exhibition as well as information about how to order prints of Bob’s photographs, including many taken on Ilkley Moor.
